Kuala Lumpur to Host Asia Harley-Davidson Days

Harley-Davidson 110th Anniversary Asian Celebrations

Harley-Davidson, Inc, along with the Ministry of Tourism Malaysia and the Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB), today announced that Kuala Lumpur will play host to Asia Harley Days to be held in September this year.

This event is being organized in conjunction with the Harley-Davidson 110th Anniversary celebrations, making it the exclusive regional experience hub in South East Asia.

The event is part of Harley-Davidson’s global tour to celebrate its “110th Anniversary: 110 Years of Freedom”, sharing epic experiences with fans from all corners of the globe. From the Tibetan Plateau in China to Sturgis in the United States; from Rome in Italy to Faaker See in Austria, Asia Harley Days will be the culmination of a year-long, global celebration taking place across 11 countries on six different continents.

Greg Willis (Director of Marketing Operations, Harley-Davidson Asia Pacific) says “Kuala Lumpur is the perfect place to hold this event due to its strategic location in South East Asia and the strong support of the Ministry of Tourism Malaysia and MyCeb, which recognizes the huge tourism potential of Malaysia playing host to Asia Harley Days.”

With support from the Ministry of Tourism Malaysia and Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau, Asia Harley Days will take place at the Kuala Lumpur City Centre (KLCC) and include members of the Harley Owners Group (H.O.G.), the motor company’s official riding club, taking part in numerous planned activities.

H.O.G. members from Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, and the rest of the world are expected to attend this celebration. The event is free, and is open to members of the public.

Asia Harley Days will be held from Saturday, 14 September, through to Friday, 20 September 2013. Events and activities include a flag parade, promotions, exhibition, displays, demo rides as well as a riding tour from Kuala Lumpur to Terengganu and Penang. For H.O.G. members, the event includes a welcome dinner, special access, promotions and deals throughout the week’s events.

Asia Harley Days in 2013 is a very big event for Malaysia. It is expected to draw at least 5,000 foreign attendees which is worth RM50 million in economic impact to the country.”

To date, the motor company has shared four epic 110th anniversary experiences via the site, as well as Harley-Davidson social pages, driving thousands of engagements from fans around the world.

The website, which will be updated with new features and content, also includes details about all of the motor company’s 110th anniversary events.
