2013 KTM 1190 Adventure & Adventure R
KTM Austria has released info on its 1190 Adventure and 1190 Adventure R models, which will only be available in Europe for 2013.
The two bikes, which will be unveiled at Intermot International Motorcycle Show in Cologne Oct. 3-7, are expected to hit US shores as 2014 models next Fall. During that show, the one of the 1190’s largest competitor, BMW, will release it’s liquid-cooled R 1200 GS.
The adventure bikes follow KTM’s “Ready to Race” strategy, featuring high power from its LC8 V-Twin, combined with a lightweight chassis and the latest electronics (traction control, ABS, and on the Adventure electronic suspension).
KTM Austria says: “Whereas the 1190 Adventure, above all focused on use on asphalt (wide 19 and 17 inch tires is especially for the pleasure of versatile road users, the Adventure R, in the best KTM tradition shows what is feasible from a sporting perspective and into the bargain invites you to undertake plenty of offroad action. Also especially pleasing is that despite incomparably fine components and finishing, the new Adventure models are still oriented towards the price and weight of their popular predecessors.”
