Three-time Dakar winner Marc Coma was representing his sponsor MRW in a vastly different fashion over the Christmas weekend.
For one day, the Spaniard became part of the MRW courier staff in Barcelona, delivering parcels to residents aboard his KTM 450 Rally bike.
Coma and his KTM 450 Rally donned the MRW colors, and moved through the Barcelona streets in typical Dakar fashion – quickly.
Coma visited the areas of Paseo de Gracia, La Pedrera or La Rambla de Cataluña, bringing a bit of Dakar to Spain.
MRW says the current Dakar champion started the day leaving MRW headquarters towards one of its offices in Barcelona, where he collected the deliveries of the day. With the pleasant surprise of those who saw him riding on the streets of the Catalan capital, Coma made the deliveries, in an atypical working day.
Now Coma and the MRW KTM team head to South America for the 34th edition of the Dakar Rally. Coma will begin the grueling race in Mar del Plata, Argentina, on Jan. 1, and finish in Lima, Peru, Jan. 15 with only one day of rest amid almost 5,600 miles.
MRW KTM says: "From January 1 to 15, the MRW rider will cross Argentina, Chile and Peru -9000 kilometres-, with the aim to achieve in Lima his fourth title and keep making history as the most successful Spanish rider of this category."
