2027 AJP PR7 First Look: 9 Fast Facts for Rally and Adventure

The 2027 AJP PR7, the Portuguese brand’s single-cylinder rally bike built for everything from solo desert crossings to technical trail riding, is coming to America. As most of us aren’t familiar with AJP, let’s go over what’s new and what carries over on the 2027 model.

  1. Although marketed as a 600 Adventure, it is sold as a dirt-only motorcycle. Fortunately, it will be registrable for the street in some states. Check with your local dealer and DMV. Deliveries begin trickling in this summer. Importer Central Powersports Distribution (CPD) says the first 2027 PR7 units will arrive in the U.S. from now until September. Riders can place a deposit through an authorized CPD dealer.

  1. The engine continues unchanged. Power comes from a short-stroke 600cc liquid-cooled DOHC single fed by an Athena GET fuel-injection system with a 45mm throttle body. The PR7 sends the power through a six-speed gearbox.

2027 AJP PR7 First Look: Specifications

  1. Intake and exhaust hardware were redesigned. AJP reshaped the airbox and paired it with a high-flow TwinAir foam filter built for dusty, harsh conditions. A new GPR exhaust header geometry is tuned to improve low- and mid-range torque delivery. This helps make the PR7 Adventure capable of single-track riding.

  1. Fuel and electrical systems get extra protection. The 4.5-gallon Acerbis fuel tank sits under the seat to centralize mass and narrow the cockpit. For 2027, AJP reinforced the fuel line routing, added an armored expansion tank, and overhauled the electrical system with sealed relays to keep water and dust out of the wiring.

  1. The frame geometry has been revised to sharpen handling. AJP reworked the PR7’s steel-and-aluminum frame for 2027, adjusting its geometry to tighten handling response on technical terrain. AJP described the weight as under 375 pounds, without specifying whether that is dry or wet. This makes it heavier than dirt bikes, though lighter than multi-cylinder adventure bikes.

  1. Although suspension travel is unchanged, a fully adjustable Öhlins option is joining the lineup. The standard PR7 keeps its fully adjustable ZF Sachs suspension: a double-closed cartridge inverted 48mm fork with 11.8 inches of travel, matched with a linkage-assisted ZF Sachs piggyback-reservoir shock delivering 11.0 inches of rear-wheel travel. A new Limited Edition Gold model, available by special order, swaps in Öhlins suspension front and rear.

2027 AJP PR7 starts at $13,999

  1. Braking and rolling stock stay proven. A Brembo 2-piston caliper grips a 300mm disc up front, and a Brembo single-piston caliper handles a 240mm rear disc. The PR7 rolls Michelin Tracker tires, a 90/90-21 front and 140/80-18 rear. Seat height is 36.2 inches, with 12.2 inches of ground clearance and a 60.6-inch wheelbase.

  1. New bodywork and lighting add protection and safety. The navigation tower fairing has been redesigned to reduce high-speed wind buffeting, a common complaint on tall-windscreen rally bikes. AJP also reshaped the side panels, fitted a new rear fender, and added integrated Angel Eye LED lighting to improve visibility during night riding in remote terrain.
  1. Pricing for the 2027 AJP PR7 starts at $13,999. The 2027 PR7 comes in White or Black with the standard ZF Sachs suspension. The special-order Limited Edition Gold model adds Öhlins suspension in place of the ZF Sachs components.
