2011 FIM Motocross

Red Bull Teka KTM Factory Racing MX2’s Kenneth Roczen dominated both FIM Motocross MX2 heats and obtained his third Grand Prix victory of the season Sunday.

In the end of the first heat, Searle was really close to Roczen, but the German crossed the finish line first three seconds ahead of the Brit.

CLS Monster Energy Kawasaki Pro Circuit’s Searle was very close to win the first FIM Motocross moto, but Roczen managed to keep the lead until the chequered flag. Tommy is satisfied with his performance, as he proved to himself that he is very close to beat his main rival and leader of the Championship, Ken Roczen.

Third overall was Monster Energy Yamaha’s Paulin thanks to his 4-3 result. The French Motocross rider started 12th in the first heat and he had to fight really hard to finish among the top five. In the second race, Gautier kept the initial third position until the end and he is now determined to improve his third overall result in the upcoming GP.

Red Bull Teka KTM Factory Racing Motocross MX2’s Herlings did not have a very good feeling on the Spanish track and he could only take an overall fourth position. Herlings was third and fourth in today’s races and he is now second in the point standings, six points behind his teammate Roczen.

Bike-it Cosworth Wild Wolf Yamaha’s Tonus showed an incredible riding style this weekend and he managed to obtain an overall fifth position. Tonus improved one position in the MX2 point standings and he is now sixth, 16th points behind his teammate Osborne.

Aubin started second in the first Motocross heat of the Spanish GP, but he crossed the finish line in the fifth position. The French rider did not have a good start in the second one, but he managed to finish eighth and he obtained a final overall sixth position.

Roelants was seventh overall and Coldenhoff obtained his best FIM Motocross MX2 result this season, being eighth ahead of Kullas and Triest.

Kullas was second in the start of the first FIM Motocross MX2 race, but he had arm pump and could only finish tenth in both heats.

Osborne did several mistakes in the first heat and at some point a FIM Motocross rider crashed on his Yamaha machine and had to pull out from the race. In the second heat, Osborne finished in a consistent 6th position.

Home FIM Motocross MX2 rider Butrón took very good starts and managed to finish 11th in the first heat. However, the Spaniard had to pull out from the second race as he had a problem with the engine of his KTM machine.

Anstie crashed yesterday during the qualifying Motocross race and his bike landed on his back. The Brit went out to race the first heat, but the pain was so hard that he decided to pull out.
