2011 AMA SBK
In the 2011 AMA Superbike Championship, again it was Team Graves Yamaha’s Josh Hayes who topped the timesheets at the opening day (Friday) of Round 4 in Road America, Elkhart Lake, Wis.
The reigning AMA Superbike Champion was over 1.5 seconds faster than his rival Blake Young on the Rockstar Makita Suzuki GSX-R1000. Third was no surprise either, Young’s teammate Tommy Hayden taking the spot.
Fourth and fifth fastest went to Martin Cardenas (M4 Suzuki GSX-R1000) and Larry Pegram (BMW S1000RR).
So far this season, only three riders have won: Young (double at Daytona, win at Miller), Hayes (win at Infineon), and Hayden (win at Infineon).
