2011 Isle of Man TT
On the second day of qualifying for the 2011 Isle of Man TT, it was again John McGuinness who topped the Mountain Course aboard the Honda TT Legends CBR1000RR Fireblade.
Unlike Monday’s rainy conditions, the 2011 IOMTT riders were met with dry skies on Tuesday, with most of the riders getting in five laps.
Taking advantage of the conditions, 15-time TT winner McGuinness piloted the Honda to a 129.041 mph on the 37.73-mile Mountain Course.
Second fastest went to Guy Martin on the Relentless by TAS Suzuki GSX-R1000 with a 128.621. Third fastest on Tuesday went to Cameron Donald (Padgetts Honda) with a 128.08 mph.
The Superstock IOMTT class was dominated by Gary Johnson (East Coast Racing Honda), with a speed of 127.717 mph. In the Supersport class, Michael Dunlop (PBM Kawasaki) was quickest with a lap of 125.464 mph.
As for the sidecar qualifying, the session was red flagged during the mid-point due to the fatal crash at Ballacrye that claimed the lives of Bill Currie and passenger Kevin Morgan. For a report on the IOMTT crash, click here.
Conditions are expected to also be pleasant for Wedneday’s qualifying session.
