Jeffrey Herlings dominated the MX2 qualifying race from beginning to end, showing his impressive skills on the sand.

German Max Nagl got an excellent start, but Steven Frossard already overtook him during the opening lap. By the end of the race, the French made a mistake and could only finish 13th. Second was Evgeny Bobryshev and completing the top three was his teammate Rui Gonçalves.

The MX2 class was clearly dominated by home rider Jeffrey Herlings, who opened a massive gap from his pursuers already in the first laps of the race. Ken Roczen managed to be second after starting from an eight position and British Max Anstie completed the top three.

In the opening round of the FIM Veterans World Cup, Mats Nilsson imposed a superb rhythm and became the first red plate holder after winning both heats. Second overall was Pascal Bal, and home rider Klaas Hofstede was on the third step of the podium.

The UEM EMX2 Championship also started in Valkenswaard today with the time practices and the qualifying races. The best 40 riders out of the 100 who were initially in entry list are all ready for tomorrow’s races.

The second place was for Honda World Motocross’ Evgeny Bobryshev, who succeeded in finishing second ahead his teammate Rui Gonçalves. The Russian was seventh overall in the Dutch GP last year, but with such second position in the MX1 Qualifying Race, proved to himself that tomorrow he is able to fight for being at the top.
