Indy SX Lites Results
Ryan Sipes on the Yamaha YZ250F raced to his first career victory in the Monster Energy AMA Supercross Lites Class in the fourth race of the 2011 Eastern Regional SX Lites season held in Indianapolis Indiana.
At the gates dropped on the Eastern Regional Supercross Lites class main event, Pro Circuit’s Blake Baggett on the Kawasaki KX250F was first to the line for the holeshot followed by DNA Shred Sticks Ryan Sipes on the Yamaha 250.
Early on lap seven, Baggett dismounted from the bike following the finish line jump and handed the lead to Sipes with Geico’s Justin Barcia on the Honda CRF250R in tow. Sipes went on to lead the remaining eight laps to register the first victory of his career followed by Barcia and Baggett, who finished second and third respectively.
Ryan Sipes (2011 Yamaha YZ 250 F) says: "I can’t even describe the feeling right now," exclaimes the first time Supercross winner.
"I didn’t think about winning until I crossed the checkered flag. Last time I thought about taking first place while leading, I went down and handed over the lead. Tonight, I stayed strong and didn’t think about it, and it definitely paid off."
"I went six laps and got pressured and went down and pretty much threw the race away, said Baggett. "I threw away a good amount of points, but we’ll just make sure we pick it up down the road."
DNA Shred Sticks, the Florida based company the sponsors Sipes and that was founded by surfers, skaters, and motocross riders, were thrilled for Yamaha’s Ryan Sipes finish in the East Supercross Lites class.
