Buttonwillow Selects VP Racing Fuels

Buttonwillow, Calif.

Track officials today announced a multi-year agreement naming VP Racing Fuels the Official Racing Fuel of Buttonwillow Raceway Park beginning in 2011.

Under the agreement, VP will be the exclusive supplier of race fuels on site with VP110 and unleaded VP100 available at the pump, while C12, MS98 and other VP specialty fuels will be available in drums and pails.

"We’re excited about bringing VP Racing Fuels on board as our Official Fuel," said Les Phillips, President of Buttonwillow.

"We’ve carried VP products for some time and found that our racers, particularly motorcycle riders and vintage cars with a wide span of compression ratios and engine requirements, appreciate not only the quality but the wide variety of VP’s specialty products. VP has a blend to satisfy virtually everybody."

"VP is proud to be the Official Fuel of Buttonwillow Raceway," said Bruce Hendel, Western Regional Manager for VP. "The variety of vehicles that use Buttonwillow’s facilities are a perfect match for the variety in VP’s product line.

Anyone racing in the American Le Mans series and testing at Buttonwillow will find unleaded VP100, the same fuel used in ALMS, available at the pump. Buttonwillow also will have U4.4 for motorcycle road racers as well as VP’s Star Mazda 100 for those testing for the Mazda series."

One of the newest and most complete road racing facilities in California, Buttonwillow has 4.3 miles of track surface, with the longest configuration measuring 3.1 miles. It hosts AFM and WERA motorcycle racing and vintage auto racing events, as well as the California Sports Car Club, NASA, and most of the other regional car clubs. Buttonwillow is a popular venue for track days for both motorcycles and cars, as well as a frequent testing site for manufacturers. It also boasts a .7 mile karting track which hosts numerous karting events, including the IKF Grand Nationals twice.

VP Racing is the Official Racing Fuel of American Le Mans, NHRA Championship Drag Racing as well as World of Outlaws Sprint Cars and Late Models, among nearly 60 VP-sponsored series.

In addition to racing fuels, VP recently introduced SEF Small Engine Fuel, formulated specifically for portable gas-powered equipment to ensure quicker, more dependable starts and worry-free long-term storage. More information is available online at www.vpracingfuels.com and www.SEFfuels.com.
