Yamaha Supercross: Regal to Miss Daytona

AMA Supercross

Team San Manuel Yamaha Red Bull’s Kyle Regal was injured this week while practicing in Florida for the Daytona Supercross race.

Medical evaluation has revealed broken bones in his wrist, including the scaphoid bone, an injury his Yamaha teammate, James Stewart, is all too familiar with.

Regal will not be attending Daytona’s race as he will be meeting with a specialist in Dallas, Texas, for further evaluation and to determine the course of action.

At this time, it is expected that Regal will be out for the rest of the AMA Supercross Series.

A very talented and promising new member of the Team San Manuel Yamaha program, Regal has posted excellent results in what would be his first full year competing in the Supercross Series, where he’s consistently qualified for the Main Event every week.

News of his injury comes with both disappointment on the riders behalf and words of encouragement from all of the Teams sponsors who recognize his great potential as a rider.

"We value his contribution to the program to date and wish him all the best for a speedy recovery" said a representative of San Manuel.
