The AMA Arenacross series’ annual stop in Reno, Nevada, is the oldest on the schedule and always one of the best. This year was no different as fans packed the Reno-Sparks Livestock Events Center for two nights of exciting racing.
Babbitt Monster Energy / TiLube Kawasaki rider Tyler Bowers has been putting in some solid rides as of late and was looking to add two more wins in Reno. He did just that starting with the main event holeshot and win on Friday night.
Thanks to his excellent start, Bowers would ride the 25-lap race uncontested en route to his fourth win of the season.
Saturday night’s main event saw Bowers get another great start right behind one of his closest rivals, Jeff Gibson (TUF Honda).
After stalking Gibson for the first third of the Arenacross race, Bowers made his move for the lead and never looked back. Shortly thereafter Bowers’ teammate, Chad Johnson also made it by Gibson and would finish a close second place. With his fifth win of the year Bowers extended his points lead to 12 as the series hits the halfway point.
Next weekend the AMA Arenacross series will head a couple of hours south to Sacramento, Calif. and ARCO Arena for the eighth stop of the tour.
