Ryan Dungey: February Update

Ryan Dungey Blog

I hope everyone has been enjoying the early part of this season’s supercross championship. The racing has been extremely competitive and defending my title has been really challenging. I’ve experienced some ups and downs, but overall I’m happy with the way I’ve performed and how well the team is working together to make consistent improvements.

As you’re well aware, the racing this season has been intense. The tracks have been really difficult and the competition is stacked. I think we’re really dialing in my Rockstar/Makita Suzuki and I’m excited to mix it up a little more at the front of the field. I really can’t wait to get back on top of the box!

In recent weeks, Fox has hosted some really cool experiences both for the fans and members of the industry. Prior to the Oakland round, myself along with fellow Fox Racing riders Wil Hahn, Ken Roczen and Eli Tomac stopped by the Fox store at Valley Fair Mall in San Jose. Even my buddy Ricky Carmichael showed up to give some love to the NorCal fans along with Jeff Emig!

It was great to spend some time with our fans. This has become a tradition before the Bay Area round of the schedule and it’s something I look forward to. The store is amazing and the fans are just so happy to be there. It’s one of those special moments as a rider that I really don’t ever want to take for granted. I can’t tell you how much it means to see people come to the Fox store just to see me and my Fox teammates.

Being a part of the Fox family is a privilege. They really are the leaders in the sport and they go all out whenever they host an event, as was the case at the open house they held at the Fox SoCal offices in Irvine.

Before we headed out to Anaheim one last time this season, Beeker and the gang hosted an awesome party for the industry. Everyone was there and Fox showcased some of the new gear coming out for the 2011 season, which I’m pumped to wear.

I really enjoy attending the special events at each round. It’s a nice change of pace from my everyday routine and like I said before, it gives me a chance to hang out with our fans. I look forward to seeing all of you at a race soon!
