Heated Motorcycle Jacket & Far Infra Red

Powerlet RapidFire

Founded in 2001, Powerlet has become the global manufacturing and distributor of rugged direct-fit power outlets, electrical interconnect cables and specialty electronic devices used in the motorcycle and powersport industry.

Incorporating the latest Far Infra Red (FIR) technology into motorcycle apparel designed specifically for riding, Powerlet’s RapidFire heated motorcycle jacket liner is another way to beat the cold an inclement weather elements.

"There really is no such thing as bad motorcycle riding conditions, just inferior gear," says Powerlet’s Director Of Marketing, Jeff Bottrell. "Our new RapidFire liner utilizes FIR technology to provide deep, soothing warmth…

"Unlike our competitors that only heat the surface of the skin with metallic wires, Powerlet’s exclusive Carbon Nano-Fiber Cor heating elements provide safe, instant and penetrating heat to keep you warm in the harshest of conditions. With 105 watts of heat, this is the warmest liner on the market."

Although FIR technology has been used by the medical profession for its therapeutic benefits, the fact that is offers almost instantaneous warming is why Powerlet adapted the technology for use in the motorcycle industry. In layman’s terms, far infrared light is a form of thermal energy.

This is the warmth you feel on your skin when you are outside in the sun. However, far infrared rays should not be confused with the sun’s ultraviolet waves, which cause sunburn. "Nor is it like a microwave," explains Bottrell. "FIR is at the far end spectrum from microwaves and completely safe."

In addition to the invisible benefits of fast-acting FIR heating, the new RapidFire liners feature some very visible features and benefits. Along with a much-improved outer fabric that is both wind-stopping and water resistant, they offer fleece-lined heated collars and Powerlet’s exclusive ProForm stretch panels in the sleeves and body enabling the garment to fit snugly and ensure optimum heat transfer.

"The soothing heat from our unique Carbon Nano-Fiber Core heating system provides warmth and comfort unmatched by any wired competitor, "explains a company spokesperson. There is also a new built-in stuff sack, making it easy to store your liner, controller and other Powerlet accessories when not in use.

OEM customers include Polaris Industries (Victory Motorcycles), Indian Motorcycles, KTM North America and Big Dog Motorcycles.

The RapidFire Motorcycle Jacket Liner has an MSRP of $249.95.
