Austin DeHaven: WERA Fontana | Video

AMA Supersport

Here’s in an inside look at Austin DeHaven’s first WERA race of 2011 at Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, Calif.

The YouTube video displays the California native’s day at the track as he prepares for the 2011 AMA Supersport season, and what’s involved. At the WERA race, DeHaven took first in the B Superstock class aboard his Yamaha YZF-R6.

As for 2010, DeHaven, a Shift Racing supersport rider, finished third overall in AMA Pro Supersport West.

And although he didn’t win a Supersport race all year, Austin Dehaven claimed the Young Gun championship; DeHaven captured the title of AMA Pro Supersport Young Gun Champion as he took second place in addition to a fourth-place finish at Barber Motorsports Park, Alabama. After the race, DeHaven commented.

Austin DeHaven says: "With all the nerves from the weekend, everything seemed to disappear as I pulled into the winner’s circle, with everyone congratulating me and all the fans cheering us on as we walked onto the podium. With how everyone else had rode and performed not only this weekend but the entire season, I was happy and felt I accomplished what I had set out to achieve.

"I just want to say thank you to everyone who has supported me and all the sponsors that have been behind me this season. I am looking forward to coming back next season even stronger and defending that cool new #1 plate!"
