Returning for 2011, the Yamaha FZ1 motorcycle is an all-around performer street-brawler that brings 998cc of fuel-injected power to the fray, in a light-and-strong aluminum frame.

For 2011 the FZ1 does get one upgrade; new and improved ECU mapping that has been revised to achieve improved throttle response in the low-speed range.

Otherwise, this Yamaha model returns with sculpted bodywork and a comfortable handlebar position that provides for great looks, rider comfort and all around sportbike usability.

Adjustable suspension lets the FZ1 be dialed-in for a wide range of streetbike uses; everything from commuting to sport-touring.

The FZ1 engine is a compact design; 998cc DOHC 20-valve engine is tuned for explicit mid-range punch and top-end power. Feed by a fuel injection system with computer-controlled sub-throttle valves, this sportbike provides precise fuel/air mixture for superb power delivery across the rev range.

The FZ1 has a four-into two-into one short-style exhaust system that is managed by the proven Yamaha Exhaust Ultimate Power valve (EXUP), a stainless catalizer and 02 sensors.

Aggressive chassis geometry with supersport inspired 51 percent front wheel weight bias helps provide for quick and nimble handling in this rather trim 487 lbs. wet weight motorcycle.

Along with the Yamaha sportbike-inspired package is a fully adjustable 43mm inverted fork and a single shock with adjustable preload and rebound damping which is tunable for sport touring or even the odd track day.

The 2011 Yamaha FZ1 also come standard with 320mm front discs squeezed by monoblock four-piston calipers up front and a single 245mm rear disc that serves-up solid stopping power.

Available in Liquid Silver, the short but stout 4.8-gallon fuel tank and estimated 35mpg provides the rider with over 150 miles of motorcycle riding pleasure between gas stops.
