2011 Superbike: Althea Racing Team Livery

2011 World Superbike

The Althea Racing Team has unveiled the new livery of its Ducati 1198, which will be entrusted to Spanish rider Carlos Checa during the 2011 World Superbike Championship.

The Ducati Superbike presentation took place last week, during "Termignoni Day", held at the exhaust company’s new headquarters in Predosa in northern Italy.

Despite freezing temperatures, there was an impressive turn-out, with members of the public and industry figures alike lining up for a glimpse of the new-look bike, characterized by its red and white paint job.

The Ducati Superbike was unveiled by team representative Moreno Coppola and Luigi Termignoni. Ernesto Marinelli, Superbike project manager for Ducati was also present.

Team Manager and Owner Genesio Bevilacqua unfortunately could not attend due to work commitments, but he offered comments.

Genesio Bevilacqua says: "Termignoni Day was the ideal occasion in which to unveil our new 2011 colours. It was already our intention to exhibit the bike at the party and so we were very happy to receive an invite and to be able to present the bike at such a unique event."

Luigi Termignoni says: "The presentation of Althea Racing’s Ducati gave added value to an already impressive line-up of bikes. The Italian motorcycle manufacturer has always participated in SBK and we are proud to be able to equip Genesio Bevilacqua’s Ducati outfit in 2011."
