AMA Supercross: Thor MX Signs Metcalfe

2011 Supercross

Thor Motocross is proud to announce the signing of Rockstar Makita Suzuki rider Brett Metcalfe. Metcalfe re-joins the Thor/Parts Unlimited team following an impressive showing during the 2010 Lucas Oil AMA Motocross Championship where he finished second overall to his 2011 teammate, Ryan Dungey.

Dave Gowland (Thor General Manager) says: "All of us at Thor are excited to have Metty back on the team. He is a great guy both on and off the track, and as everyone saw this summer is an extremely talented racer. We’re all very excited for the upcoming 2011 Supercross / Motocross season."

The Australian born rider was with Thor in 2007 and 2008 as a member of the Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki team, before spending 2009-2010 with the GEICO Powersports Honda race team.

Metcalfe makes a great addition to an impressive 2011 Supercross lineup that already includes Ryan Villopoto (Monster Energy Kawasaki) and the entire Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki race team.

The entire Thor MX team is eagerly awaiting the start of the 2011 Monster Energy AMA Supercross series that kicks off on January 8th from Angel Stadium in Anaheim, Calif.

Rockstar Makita Suzuki welcomed Metcalfe to the team in early October for the 2011 Supercross and Motocross race efforts aboard the championship-winning Suzuki fuel-injected RM-Z450.

Metcalfe impressed the industry in 2010 with his strong finish in the AMA Pro Motocross series, with results as high as second place at the final race of the season at Pala Raceway.

He ended his year in the Motocross series in second place behind his now-teammate Dungey, and showed plenty of promise on the racetrack.
