Angeles Crest Fire
On Aug. 23, 2010, Pro Italia’s Cafe Desmo attracted over 500 motorcyclists for its "Ride the Crest" event up Angeles Crest to Newcombs’ Ranch. During this event more than $2,600 was raised for the Plant-A-Tree Program of Angeles National Forest. This money will be used to plant 4,000 trees in the burned areas helping the forest recover faster and to even better support the many campers, hikers, bikers, sightseers and motorcyclists who will use it in the future.
Bill Nation, Dealer-Principal of Pro Italia Ducati & MV Agusta noted: "I can’t express how proud I am to be part of the local motorcycling community who rose to the occasion and supported that great natural resource, Angeles National Forest, in a time of need." "We look forward to the day when motorcyclists, bikers, cars and hikers can ride and walk the entire Angeles Crest Highway again." Jody Noiron, Angeles National Forest Supervisor, noted how pleased she was "to have Pro Italia and the local motorcycling community on board as a partner." She added: "I look forward to future collaborative efforts. We need lots of help and support from our partners to get our job done."
