When the best specialty printers in the world competed in the Specialty Graphic Imaging Association’s Golden Image competition this fall, Hot Leathers, the industry leader in motorcycle apparel and accessories went home with two coveted awards.

This year’s 2010 SGIA Expo was held in Las Vegas from October 13 – 15 and was one of the most challenging in recent history with an array of talented specialty printers vying for some much deserved recognition.

Hot Leathers, one of America’s top 50 volume screen printers and the predominant leader in motorcycle apparel and accessories, won gold and silver awards for popular designs Wicked Garden and Military Skull.

Andy George (Retail Manager of Hot Leathers) says: “I am very proud of the Hot Leathers team. Our work was compared to the best in the world – and we came out on top. That’s quite an accomplishment!”

The competition recognizes the top products from nearly every sector of the specialty imaging industry. More than 85 companies from around the world entered the competition, submitting a total of 400 prints in 43 product categories. Entries were evaluated by an elite team of imaging professionals, who awarded gold, silver and bronze ribbons to the best prints.

Johnny Shell (SGIA’s Vice President of Technical Services) says: “The judges had a very difficult time this year, not because of the sheer volume of entries, but because of the overall quality of the work. Judges in virtually every category told me the entries were so good that choosing winners was a real challenge.”

Shell added that the Golden Image competition is judged on the technical accomplishments of each entry, excluding aesthetic issues from the evaluation and scoring process. Prints are judged on the level of difficulty and quality of execution.

Johnny Shell continues: “Winning the Gold and Silver for simulated process on light garments puts Hot Leathers among the top specialty printers in the world in terms of quality and capability. The ability to consistently print such high quality products indicates that Hot Leathers is an expert at controlling the many variables involved in specialty printing.”

Known for their unbeatable selection of motorcycle merchandise for over 27 years, Hot Leathers is one of America’s top 50 volume screen printers. Renowned for their supreme selection of motorcycle merchandise, Hot Leathers has become the industry standard for quality, selection and value. Any enthusiast knows that genuine biker style isn’t achieved without the intrepid and original products made available through Hot Leathers.

By traveling to every major motorcycle event in the country, selling wholesale to fine retailers and distributors across the globe, and selling on their website,, they have established their position as the number one source of apparel and accessories for bikers everywhere.
