AMA Superbike
Here’s an inside look at the return of Eric Bostrom to the AMA Superbike series. The California native reported in 2008 that he would no longer be racing motorcycles after taking fourth in the AMA SBK championship that year.
But for this year he returned on the Cycle World Attack Performance Yoshimura Suzuki GSX-R1000. The team was set to make its debut at Laguna Seca during the running of the USGP combined with AMA Pro Racing, but thanks to funding from Sho-Air Specialized, the team started a race earlier in Mid-Ohio.
At Mid-Ohio, Eric Bostrom finished eight in Race 1, and DNF’d due to motorcycle troubles in Race 2. At Laguna Seca, he finished in seventh.
Eric Bostrom has won four AMA Championships, and 15 AMA Superbike races. His brother Ben Bostrom also competes in AMA Superbike aboard the Pat Clark Motorsports Yamaha.
