The TTXGP electric race bikes made history today as they turned the first laps at the legendary Road America circuit at Elkhart Lake.
The bad weather that had plagued the early practice session was much improved as the bikes took to the track in the late afternoon.
The Electric Motorsports team arrived late after travelling non-stop from San Francisco across the country, bringing with them the Agni Motors, Lightning Motors and Werkstatt race bikes.
Their delayed arrival and the fatigue of the cross country journey did not deter these four teams from immediately prepping their bikes to go out and take the first laps of the second practice session.
The opportunity to finally get some track time on the challenging 4.05 mile circuit was appreciated by teams, fans and officials alike. Zoe Rem led the practice session posting a time of 3:16.558 on the Agni Motors bike.
This was Zoe’s first opportunity to test the machine that won at Infineon Raceway three weeks ago, but she quickly got up to speed and shaved 9.5 seconds of her first lap by the time she completed lap 5.
Jim Pooler on the Electric Motorsports bike posted the second fastest lap time of 3:25.826. Third fastest was Mike Hannas, who placed third at Infineon Raceway, who posted a fast lap of 3:30.636.
