Alaska to Tierra del Fuego | Adventure

Motorcycle Preparation

Helge Pedersen, Globeriders founder and author of Ten Years On Two Wheels, is on a route-scouting trip in preparation for the second and third leg of Globeriders’ upcoming 2010-2011 Alaska-to-Tierra del Fuego Tour.

Pedersen stopped in at Touratech-USA in Seattle to outfit his new BMW R1200GS Adventure before he hit the road headed South. Touratech USA’s president, Tom Myers, pitched in and developed a custom mount for Pedersen’s large camera case. In the video he shares lots of tips on how to properly prepare your motorcycle for a long adventure ride.

Globeriders’ Alaska to Tierra del Fuego tour kicks off in Anchorage, Alaska, August 2010. The first leg of the tour will feature clinics in outdoor photography, first aid, and offroad riding, skills that will surely come in handy during the second leg of the tour through Central America the third, through South America, from January to March of 2011.

Helge Pedersen Speaks…

“If you just sit at home and read the newspaper and watch TV to learn about the world, you’re depriving yourself of a tremendous experience you could have had by going to the different cultures especially by motorcycle.”

Early applications for Globeriders’ Alaska to Tierra del Fuego Tour are being accepted with no cost or obligation. Visit: www.globeriders.com for more information.
