Sturgis hosts annual Motorcycles as Art exhibit
The Legendary Buffalo Chip has the pleasure of hosting Michael Lichter’s 9th Annual Motorcycles as Art exhibit for the 2009 rally. The exhibit will be housed in the Lichter Exhibition Hall, a recently completed construction project, at the Buffalo Chip. The exhibit hall is conveniently located near the east gate with a large parking lot with easy access to the Motorcycles as Art Exhibit.
"Rebel Rousers", the 2009 theme, features the motorcycle icons that inspired the culture and the history of the attitude and camaraderie of motorcyclists. The exhibit puts the spotlight on 15 custom motorcycles, hundreds of other memorabilia, photos and pieces of artwork that have a level of celebrity. Pieces like Captain America, Billy bike, David Mann’s Ghostrider and Wild Child are a part of the presentation. Exhibit doors open at 10am on Saturday August 1 for a Grand Opening Celebration. Everyone is welcome to attend.
The 7,000 square foot exhibit will host another great presentation choreographed by World Renowned Motorcycle Photographer, Michael Lichter. "Micheal has the ability to tell an extraordinary story through motorcycles, art and memorabilia," said Rod Woodruff, Buffalo Chip Campground owner. "This exhibit has become a big part of the Sturgis Rally and we are excited to welcome everyone out to view it."
The exhibit has easy access from the east gate. Visitors are encouraged to use the east entrance off of Alkali Road into the Buffalo Chip Campground. Free Parking is available and the exhibit is free to the public. Exhibit hours are 10am to 10pm, Friday July 31 through Saturday August 8. The exhibit will be closed to the public from 3:00pm to 8:30pm on Monday August 3rd, Tuesday August 4th and Friday August 7th for private parties. More information about the exhibit and all of the daily events can be found at www.Buffalochip.com.
