Blackstone Tek Carbon Wheels | Suzuki GSX-R1000 Upgrade

Blackstone Tek (BST) wheels are now available for all model year Suzuki GSX-R1000s through BST’s new U.S. distributor, Brock’s Performance. More eye-opening than a 10-horsepower kick in the can, these lightweight carbon fiber wheels from BlackStone Tek (BST) bestow the open-class Gixxer with agile, middleweight-like handling and show-quality flare.

A 16-lb. set of BST wheels will endow the Thou with sharper corner-carving abilities, enable even faster acceleration and promote quicker braking by weighing less than their OEM counterparts, reducing unsprung mass and gyroscopic effects in cornering. This equates to stronger street performance, quicker lap times at the track and more attention when profiling.

BST’s five-spoke Gixxer wheels feature a trick, single-piece construction. They utilize carbon fiber strands woven in a unidirectional format, embedded in a resin matrix, cured in a high-pressure autoclave at 250 degrees and coated with a chemical-resistant, high-gloss finish. The completed rims roll on maintenance-free, precision-sealed Worldwide steel roller bearings encased in low-friction seals. Outfitted with beautiful billet aluminum hubs and carriers, they have integrated cush drives and come ready to bolt on. With the confidence of a higher strength-to-weight ratio than any alloy, BST carbon fiber wheels are covered by a two-year warranty.

Proven internationally at every level of FIM Grand Prix competition and in winning 12 national championship titles around the world, BST’s finest are DOT-legal for street use in America. Approved for WERA Superbike and Formula 1 roadracing classes, they are also undergoing AMA Pro Racing’s homologation process.

Supporting the sport, BST offers more than $15,000 in race contingency money as a WERA Roadracing sponsor and the headliner of AMA Dragbike’s BST Real Street series, where BST-sponsored Keith Thompson leads the championship points chase. On the tuck-in-and-gas-it front, BST recently signed land-speed record holders John Noonan and Leslie Porterfield, motorcycling’s fastest man and woman, to roll on its rims.
