2008 Ducati Monster 696 | ShowCase

A new large-diameter, lighter-weight frame highlights the newest generation of the Monster family. The 696 features compact ergonomics, the lowest seat height of any Ducati, as well as an aluminum subframe and swingarm. Claimed dry weight for the 696 is 355 lbs.

The air-cooled engine is also getting a boost, compared to the 695. Ducati claims approximate increases of 10% for both torque and peak horsepower. (Click image to enlarge)

We had some misgivings about the 695’s clutch when we tested it in traffic, but the 696 has a new clutch that Ducati says will have improved action, "especially in urban riding where frequent stops require high use."
