Dunlop’s new Roadsmart sport-touring Multi-Tread tires have a hard compound center stripe for long life, and its softer Qualifier compound around the shoulders for outstanding cornering grip. Our test was—unusually for California—a wet one. On a BMW R 1200 RT, the Roadsmart gave good feedback, linear handling and proved its mettle in very difficult conditions over some challenging road surfaces. As the day progressed, my confidence increased, and despite an enforced emergency braking maneuver entering a turn, the Roadsmarts never lost traction.
