Although the World Superbike Championship has been on break since the Silverstone round July 31, and won’t return until Sept. 4 at Nurburgring in Germany, the Castrol Honda team didn’t stop working. First it was some marketing in India, and now it’ll be some testing.

As a result of worldwide demand for its motorcycles, including a growing customer base in the United States, Royal Enfield Motors has begun construction on a new manufacturing facility in Chennai, India, the company anounced Wednesday.

Following in the two-wheel tracks of Harley-Davidson, BMW Motorrad and Ducati, another motorcycle manufacturer will soon enter the India market – Triumph.
The British motorcycle company says it plans to enter India in 2012, but hasn’t set a specific date, or whether the company will import or assemble there.
Honda Motorcycle News
As the motorcycle market in India continues to expand, so does Honda. On Thursday, Honda Motorcycles & Scooter India (HMSI) reported it would expand production capacity in its second production plant, which is under construction, and plans to build a third one for 2013.
In 2009 FMF Racing took the big step of supporting XDL’s national championship competition, renaming it the FMF Cup.
Since that time, the XDL Championship Series has put Inside XDL on Versus, executed a demo at the ESPN’s Summer X Games, and for 2011 upgraded its schedule to include both MotoGP events and no less than three city venues.
The biggest news in English Royalty is the upcoming wedding of Prince William to his fiance, Kate Middleton. And according to Swinton Bike Insurance in the UK, shortly after the prince ties the knot, he’s planning a motorcycle trip around India.
