Barcelona Trial: Another Toni Bou Win

2012 Trial World Championship

Although the Barcelona round of the 2012 Trial World Championship isn’t officially on the series’ calendar, this didn’t stop Toni Bou from displaying his dominating skills.

The Repsol Montesa rider achieved his sixth victory at the Spanish round, and now Bou is only one victory away from Jordi Tarres’ record.

Bou finished with only a six-point penalty, one in qualifying, five in the final, and was joined on the podium by Sherco’s Albert Cabestany and Beta’s Jeroni Fajardo.

Toni Bou (Repsol Montesa Trial) says: "I am very happy with today’s result. As this round did not give points for the World championship, we were able to ride more relaxed, with less pressure and offering a better show, specially in the last zones.

"If it had been a World Championship round we would have tried to secure a lot more, but here you can take risks and in the end everything went my way. And the public likes that. I also rode well and I am happy with the way the bike works. To be able to achieve my sixth win in Barcelona is also important. It was a great day."
