Electric motorcycles impact Clean Energy Forum

On Wednesday, October 28, Craig Bramscher, founder and CEO of the Brammo electric motorcycle company, and others will meet with Energy Secretary Steven Chu and other energy officials to discuss energy efficiency, alternative energy sources, and the creation of jobs in similar markets.

Energy Secretary Steven Chu will host the Clean Energy Economy Forum with stakeholders from around the country at the Eisenhower Executive Office Building. Assistant to the President for Energy and Climate Change Carol Browner and other top Administration officials will also be featured speakers at the forum, which will include a focus on science, innovation, and job creation in the emerging clean energy economy.

In addition to addressing those issues, the Administration officials will reiterate the need for a comprehensive energy plan that puts America back in control of its energy future and breaks a dependence on oil that threatens our economy, our environment, and our national security. They will also have the opportunity to answer questions from and get the perspective of business leaders who have first-hand experience creating jobs while contributing to American energy independence.

The forum comes a day after President Obama announced the largest single energy grid modernization investment in U.S. history, funding a broad range of technologies that will spur the nation’s transition to a smarter, stronger, more efficient and reliable electric system. The end result will promote energy-saving choices for consumers, increase efficiency, and foster the growth of renewable energy sources like wind and solar.
