Yamaha Ténéré Trek: First Owner’s Rally Set for Idaho This August

Yamaha is hosting its inaugural Ténéré Trek Owner’s Rally, a four-day event set for August 6-9 at Tamarack Resort near Donnelly, Idaho. Registration is open now. The event is limited to 200 riders and open to owners of Yamaha adventure and dual-sport motorcycles with engines 250cc or larger — sorry, WR125R riders. Participation requires a GPS device and an SOS satellite communications device. Participants will ride curated adventure routes led by Yamaha ambassadors and staff through the mountain back roads and USFS routes of the Payette National Forest.

The $250 entry for the Yamaha Ténéré Trek Owner’s Rally also covers three hosted dinners, commemorative swag, on-site riding seminars and training opportunities, sponsor product experiences, and product demos from Yamaha, including the new 2026 Yamaha Ténéré 700 World Raid.

According to Yamaha Experiential Marketing Manager Jennifer Davie, the event grew from the community that has coalesced around the Ténéré 700 since the adventure bike arrived in U.S. showrooms in mid-2020.

“The Ténéré 700 has built a proud and passionate following through its capability across a wide range of roads and trails,” she said. “We built the Ténéré Trek to give back to those passionate owners, and bring the community together in an incredible setting to celebrate what makes adventure riding special.”

Many riders outside the Pacific Northwest will not be familiar with Tamarack Resort or its surrounding terrain, and that is part of the appeal. The facility is a 100-mile drive from Boise, across Lake Cascade from Donnelly, a small Valley County town of a few hundred people. The base sits at roughly 5,000 feet elevation with Lake Cascade visible to the east and the rugged West Mountains rising behind the resort.

While the Tamarack Resort caters to skiers, golfers, boaters, bicyclists, and spa-goers, what makes the area compelling for adventure motorcycle riders is what lies beyond. The Payette National Forest covers more than 2.3 million acres in central Idaho and is laced with roads ranging from hard-packed dirt to genuine 4×4 routes.

The region draws far less traffic than the better-known Sawtooth Valley to the east, and the surrounding terrain connects to some of the most remote riding in the contiguous 48 states. Nearby McCall, a four-season outdoor hub 20 miles to the north, adds lodging options for riders arriving early or extending the trip.

Live entertainment, group activities, and raffles are on the Yamaha Ténéré Trek Owner’s Rally schedule, with additional fun still to be announced. Non-riders can participate for a $50 fee. Lodging at the highly regarded 3-star Tamarack Resort is available with a discounted Yamaha-negotiated rate. For those who do not want the resort experience, Yamaha has reserved spots at lakeside Curlew Campground (two miles north) and Osprey Point Group Yurts (three miles south).
