Cleveland winner Ken Roczen.

Another episode of the 2026 Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship Series soap opera has concluded with just one point separating the top two riders. Ken Roczen turned a 2-2-1 night at the 2026 Cleveland Supercross into a victory, while series leader Hunter Lawrence started strong before unraveling and finishing in P6 overall.

Drama began before the afternoon racing, when Eli Tomac, one of the top three title contenders, crashed during qualifying. A resulting hip injury prevented Tomac from participating in the afternoon Triple Crown racing. That dropped Tomac to P4 in the standings, 31 points behind Lawrence with three rounds remaining. Three rounds earlier, after Detroit, Tomac was leading the series.

Honda's Hunter Lawrence
After dominating the first Race, 2026 Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship Series leader Hunter Lawrence struggled in the rain, finishing in P6 overall.

Behind Roczen’s consistently strong performance was chaos. Cooper Webb was the unlikely runner-up after going 5-4-2 on the night. That tied him with Justin Cooper at 11 Triple Crown points, with Webb winning due to the Race 3 results tiebreaker. Cooper entered the final race of the Cleveland Triple Crown tied with Roczen in the top position. However, Cooper came up short on a jump and flew over a berm before crashing. Cooper’s 3-1-7 night was good enough for the final podium spot.

Justin Cooper survived a Race 3 crash to finish on the Cleveland Supercross podium.

Chase Sexton’s 7-3-4 card locked him into P4, well clear of consistent Joey Savatgy (6-7-6). Lawrence’s 1-5-14, caused by poor starts and crashes, dropped him to P6 for the night. It was Savatgy’s second top-five finish of the year, and only the second time Lawrence has finished outside of the top five.

With three rounds remaining, Lawrence leads Roczen by one point, with the two riders tied with four wins as the first tiebreaker. Webb moves into P3, 22 points behind Lawrence. Tomac’s zero-point afternoon leaves him 31 points off the pace in P4.
