2026 Houston Supercross Fantasy Picks and Tips: 6 Fast Facts

After three rounds of the 2026 Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship Series, the tea leaves are starting to arrange themselves. Although the top five riders for RMFantasySX players aren’t locked in, there are some trends worth considering. Plus, the next round is a Triple Crown, and longtime fans know what that means. So, let’s get to doling out the 2026 Houston Supercross fantasy picks and tips.

2026 Houston Supercross Fantasy Picks and Tips: Eli Tomac
Eli Tomac.
  1. Eli Tomac is the indisputable Triple Crown King. No one is even close. There have been 20 Triple Crown rounds since the format debuted in 2018, and Tomac has won eight of them. Given his 1-1-3 start in Supercross this year, there’s no other reasonable choice.
2026 Houston Supercross Fantasy Picks and Tips: Hunter Lawrence
Hunter Lawrence.
  1. With 4-2-2 consistency this year, Hunter Lawrence is the way to go for P2. Although Lawrence isn’t the fastest racer in the stadiums, he’s close and highly reliable. Lawrence will be just one Tomac bobble away from taking his first 450SX win. Houston is going to be great to watch.
2026 Houston Supercross Fantasy Picks and Tips: Chase Sexton
Chase Sexton.
  1. When it comes to Triple Crown wins, Cooper Webb and Chase Sexton are neck-and-neck. One chink in Tomac’s armor is that he has won just one Triple Crown since 2023, compared to two each for Sexton and Webb. Sexton has had a better 2026 than Webb, and Webb has not been the model of consistency. You cannot win Triple Crown rounds without consistent riding over the three Races. It’s almost a toss-up, though Sexton’s speed gives him a slight edge over Webb. So, we’re looking at Sexton in P3 at Houston, followed by Webb. Keep in mind that any of these top four choices is a potential winner.
Ken Roczen on a Suzuki
Ken Roczen.
  1. Two other riders lining up have Triple Crown victories—Jason Anderson and Ken Roczen. However, those are almost ancient history, with Anderson’s Triple Crown win coming in 2018 and Roczen taking the top spot on the Triple Crown podium in 2020. Roczen’s 2-3-8 season so far is clearly better than Anderson’s 5-11-4, so that gives the P5 nod to Roczen.

  1. Bubbling under these top five, there are quality riders. Joey Savatgy has gone 5-6 in the last two rounds. Also, Justin Cooper is underperforming at 6-6-10 in 2026. If you’re already looking for dark-horse top five riders, Savatgy and Cooper are your best choices.
Husqvarna: RJ Hampshire
RJ Hampshire.
  1. The Wild Card is P8, and there are plenty of candidates. Six riders have finished within one spot of P8—Dylan Ferrandis (twice), Cooper Webb (twice), Chase Sexton, RJ Hampshire, Aaron Plessinger, Jorge Prado, and Ken Roczen. That’s an impressive roster. I think we can toss Webb, Sexton, and Roczen out of this list. Plessinger is banged up, so hard to tell for him at Houston. Ferrandis is 9-9-11, so not really looking like a P8 guy. Prado is unpredictable with a 3-13-7 start to 2026. That leaves me with RJ Hampshire, who is on a 18-12-9 run. I think momentum will put Hampshire in P8, but feel free to decide who you want to root for coming in P8 and act accordingly.
