Chase Sexton went 1-1 at the 2024 RedBud National Motocross to take a seven-point lead in the 2024 AMA Pro Motocross National Championship Series and a six-point lead in the 2024 SuperMotocross World Championship Series Standings. Hunter Lawrence, who came to RedBud MX with a three-point lead, crashed hard while leading the opening moto with two laps remaining, handing over the top spot to Sexton. Lawrence remounted for a P2 in the first moto. Lawrence settled for P4 in the second moto, mentioning the effects of a possible concussion as a limiting factor in his performance in front of the raucous RedBud MX crowd. Aaron Plessinger went 4-2 to round out the podium, finishing over 15 seconds behind Sexton at the second moto’s checkered flag.
Jason Anderson turned a 5-3 day into P4 overall, ahead of Justin Cooper. After finishing on the moto one podium, Cooper struggled after a mediocre start in the second moto, eventually finishing in P5 overall. Cooper’s 3-6 results were good enough to move him into P3 in the standings, ahead of the out-for-the-season Jett Lawrence.

Now past the midway point in the series, racing resumes with the Spring Creek National on Saturday, July 13, at Spring Creek MX Park in Millville, Minn. Check out our 2024 Pro Motocross Television Schedule for viewing information.
