Honda Shadow Recall 2010-2015
Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) has recalled over 22,000 of its Shadow motorcycles, model year 2010-2015.
Honda says the following models are involved in the recall: 2012-2014 VT750CA, VT750C2 and VT750C2F, 2011-2016 VT750C, 2013-2016 VT750CS, 2010-2016 VT750C2B and 2013-2014 VT750C2S motorcycles (Aero, Ace, Phantom models).
According to Honda, engine vibration may cause the bank angle sensor wiring to rub on the wiring harness joint connector. This can result in a loss to the sensor signal and cause the engine to stall without warning, increasing the risk of a crash.
This recall impacts a reported 22,142 motorcycles in North America.
Honda is currently notifying owners of this issue and will relocate the joint connector, as well as replace the bank angle sensor free of charge. The recall is expected to begin Feb. 19, 2016. Owners may contact Honda customer service at 1-800-999-1009. Honda’s number for this recall is JW7.
