Honda RC213V-S Owner Takes Delivery

2016 Honda RC213V-S Delivered to Manchester Buyer

The first customer to take delivery of the vaunted 2016 Honda RC213V-S has received it just in time for Christmas. Arriving at Honda’s UK racing headquarters on Dec. 21, John Brown took the RC213V-S back to Hunts Motorcycles, his family owned Honda dealership in Manchester, UK. Pictured is Brown proudly posing on his MotoGP-based street legal superbike, which retails for €188,000 (including all taxes).

A huge Honda supporter, Brown’s new RC213V-S will take its place in his motorcycle stable with an RC30 (brand new), two VTR1000 sport bikes (SP1 and SP2), a VF1000F, and a CBR900RR. The RC213V-S is currently closer to a MotoGP bike than any motorcycle made, having just the minimum changes to make it street-legal and functional on the street. An optional race kit from HRC turns the Honda RC213V-S into the ultimate track bike.

“To see the world’s first RC213V-S presented to a customer today is fantastic, especially to someone like John who is so passionate about Honda,” noted Honda Motorcycles Operating Officer Tetsuo Suzuki. “Throughout the development process we have kept the RC213V-S as similar to the MotoGP machine as possible so that the customer gets the closest experience to riding the RC213V as possible. The sales and interest in the bikes has been very strong, with some customers wanting to keep in collections, and others wanting to ride.”

Brown was sold on the concept of the Honda RC213V-S as soon as he heard about it. “When I first heard of this project I thought, ‘When this happens I have to have one of these,'” Brown said. “It is a truly amazing opportunity to own a piece of HRC racing history. As soon as it went on sale, I registered my interest on the website, and when I received the call from Honda to say my order was accepted it was a very special day for me. I joined my family business as a 17-year old, and have been a Honda dealer ever since. My dealership has been one of the top-three in the UK for many years, and the bike will be great with my existing collection.”

Hand-built at Honda’s factory in Kumamoto, Japan, RC213V-S motorcycles will continue to be delivered to customers as the new year ticks over to 2016. The initial orders began on July 13, 2015.
