Ducati has recalled nearly 6,000 of its “four-in-one” motorcycles, the Multistrada 1200, for possible throttle issues. The recall includes all 2010-2014 models – the Standard, S, Pikes Peak and Gran Turismo.
Ducati says due the inner sleeve of the throttle-opening (upper) cable could become disengaged and prevent the throttle from fully closing. If this occurs, the rider may lose control and crash.
Ducati has received a handful of reports about throttle tightness, but as of this writing no injuries or accidents have occurred.
The recall is expected to begin May 11. Ducati will notify owners, and authorized dealers will replace the upper throttle cable free of charge. Owners may also contact Ducati at 1-800-231-6696, and reference the recall RCL-15-001.
