BMW Motorrad USA June 2014 Sales

In worldwide markets, BMW Motorrad sales continue to impress – May was the fifth consecutive month of positive worldwide sales.

But last month, BMW Motorrad USA reported a decrease of 6 percent. This decrease in sales continued for the month of June, but this time 3.4 percent.

BMW Motorrad reports that in June 2014, 1,327 motorcycles were sold, compared to 1,374 sold in June of 2013. Regardless of the two-consecutive months of negative sales, overall yearly sales are up 8.2 percent after six months.

Again, the top-selling USA model in June was the R 1200 GS. BMW Motorrad says 190 of the R 1200 GS adventure bikes were sold, helping drive growth of 7 percent of deliveries in R-Series models with 517 boxer deliveries in June compared to 482 in June of last year.

Sales of the S series bikes, such as the S1000RR, HP4 and S1000R, increased by 44 percent in June 2014 compared to June 2013. BMW Motorrad says 290 S Series bikes were sold compared to 202 last June, with the HP4 up 168 percent in the month with 58 deliveries compared to 22 in June of 2013.
