2013 RedBud AMA National
The 2013 AMA Pro Motocross Championship heads to Buchanan, Mich., Saturday for the 40th running of the RedBud National.
And leading the charge as the sereies heads into round seven of 12 is Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Ryan Villopoto, the reigning AMA Supercross Champion.
Villopoto has won nine motos, and is the only rider to win a moto in every round so far this season. But his lead has continually shrunk over the past few rounds due to some wins by Villopoto’s biggest threat this season – the reigning AMA Motocross Champion, Red Bull KTM’s Ryan Dungey.
The two shared wins last week at the sandy Moto-X 338 National in Southwick. Villopoto has the lead with 283 points, but Dungey is only 12 back.
FUEL TV will cover the first motos live at 1 p.m. ET, and NBC will cover the second moto of the 450cc class live at 3 p.m. ET. The final 250cc Moto will be broadcast on the NBC Sports Network at 4 p.m. ET.
Following are some pre-race statistics ahead of the RedBud National for both the 450 class, and the 250 class, which is currently led by Red Bull KTM’s Ken Roczen.
