During the 2011 Malaysian Grand Prix, Repsol’s Marc Marquez crashed during practice, the Moto2 rider suffering vision problems.

These problems continued to plague the 19-year-old Spaniard, who finished runner-up in the 2011 Moto2 Championship. He eventually underwent surgery, but due to recovery, he was forced to miss the first official Moto2 test sessions at Valencia last week.

But recovery is progressing as planned, allowing Marquez to continue prepping for the upcoming season through mountain bike riding, gym workouts and motocross training, such as shown in the attached video above.

In the video, Marquez trains at the Circuit Municipal del Segre, which is located just outside the city of Lleida, Spain. As for recovery from eye surgery, the process is going exactly as planned, Repsol reports.

Marc Marquez (Repsol Moto2) says: “I am happy, because I am feeling a lot better after the operation. I can train motocross now, which is a good sign. I feel safer and now my vision is almost back to 100% -I can see better every week, which is important.

“I feel comfortable enough to get back on track and I am really itching to ride again. We have to take things calmly, but in the meantime I am preparing myself in the gym and on the cycle in order to start my preseason off well.”

Although his recovery is going positively, Marquez will miss the Jerez Moto2 tests this week.
