2012 Castles & Crusades BMW Tour

European BMW Tour

World of BMW, BMW Motorrad’s touring and activity partner, invites riders of all abilities to join them on the new-for-2012 Easy Rider: Castles & Crusades Tour, taking place between May 4 and 9.

This relaxed-paced, 600-mile trip has been created to appeal to first time European tourers and more experienced travellers alike.

"Castles & Crusades" is a spectacular trip, taking in superb roads and historic points of interest and providing plenty of opportunities to relax and enjoy the local culture and cuisine.

Richard Harvey
(BMW Tour Leader) says: "I’m very excited about being the guide for Castles & Crusades. It’s going to be six days of incredible riding, fascinating historical locations and, of course, plenty of opportunities to sample the renowned local Trappist Belgian beers along the way, including an optional ride-out to the famed Abbey d’Oval.

"In France, we’ll stop at the castle and fortified town of Sedan with its 30-metre-tall ramparts, and even stay overnight in a hotel housed within the fortified walls. Then it’s on to the wonderfully gothic Vianden Castle in Luxembourg for two nights, offering a day’s exploration of the local area, or yet more riding.

"The tour then heads into the Ardennes forest for the final two nights at a beautiful four star hotel, built in 1730, at the very in centre of small village of Bouillon. This perfect waterfront spot overlooks the Semois River with stunning views of the Castle of Godefroid, and we’ll round off the trip with an inclusive gourmet evening meal on the final night"

On a World of BMW tour, everything is taken care of, from ferry crossings and expertly-picked overnight accommodation to maps, the best riding routes, and selected group meals and activities. Once you’ve booked the trip, you can leave everything to BMW Tours.

Each trip is led by an experienced, friendly guide and anyone joining the tour will be travelling with a group of riders, some with pillions, on all types of motorcycle – owning a BMW isn’t a requirement.

Before setting off, riders are provided with a map of each day’s suggested route and directions to the next overnight stop. Customers are welcome to ride with the guide, head off with new friends made on the tour, or even ride solo and rejoin the group for the first drink in the hotel bar that evening.

Prices for the "Easy Rider: Castles & Crusades Tour" start from £749 ($1184) for a single rider. This includes ferry crossings and hotels on a shared basis, selected group meals, maps and a selection of activities.
