2011 Suzuki GSX-R 1000 | Quick Look

2011 Suzuki Superbike

Although the 2011 Suzuki GSX-R1000 only gets graphics changes, its two smaller siblings get serious redesigns that include new frames, Showa Big Piston Forks (matching the 1000), dramatic weight reductions and more horsepower.

Both smaller machines will now have Brembo Monobloc brakes, obviating what was arguably the only weak spot in the GSX-R armory.

Suzuki invented this category in 1985, and stomped to seven AMA superbike titles in a row with a GSX-R1000 that is a tightly wound, well-balanced missile that became the class yardstick.

As for 2012, it will be interesting, but for now the GSX-R1000 isn’t broken and Suzuki didn’t need to fix it.
