2011 AMA Motocross
The AMA Motocross riders will start a bit earlier than usual at Unadilla next weekend for Round 9 of 12 in the 2011 Championship.
MX Sports reports that opening ceremonies at Unadilla in New Berlin, N.Y., will begin at noon EDT, with the first motos set for 12:30 p.m.
As for TV coverage, FUEL TV will broadcast the first motos (450cc, 250cc) of Unadilla Motocross at 12:30 p.m. (EDT) on Saturday, Aug. 13. The final motos in the 450cc class will be broadcasts live at 3 p.m. (EDT) Saturday.
Additionally, SPEED TV will broadcast the final 250cc MX moto at 11:30 p.m. (EDT) Saturday, Aug. 13.
Currently, just nine points separate Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Ryan Villopoto, Rockstar/Makita Suzuki’s Ryan Dungey, and TwoTwo Motorsports/Bel-Ray Racing’s Chad Reed atop the 450 Class Motocross standings. In the 250 Class, the Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki trio of Dean Wilson, Tyla Rattray, and Blake Baggett lead the division, respectively, and are currently in the midst of compiling a perfect Motocross season for team owner Mitch Payton.
As a reminder, the on-track action next Saturday from Unadilla begins at 8:30 a.m. (EDT) with the first of two practice sessions for each class. Following a short intermission, the opening ceremonies will generate excitement for the day’s festivities at 12 noon EST. The gate drops on the Rockstar Energy Unadilla National just 30 minutes later, at 12:30 p.m. EST.
