2011 Dainese Italian Legendary Tour

Dainese/AGV ILT

This year, following trips through the Dolomites and the Tuscan countryside, Turin is the next official stop on the Dainese/AGV Italian Legendary Tour (ILT), where the group will pay homage to the 150th anniversary of the Unification of Italy.

The third Dainese Italian Legendary Tour kicks off Sept. 7 from Dainese’s Vicenza headquarters. After a quick trip through the Company’s past, present, and future, the group will get advice on protection, appropriate apparel and equipment required to ride in complete safety, then the unforgettable road trip will begin…

The Dainese/AGV ILT tour will ride through the Po River Plains, stopping in Lake Garda and Lake Idro before spending the night in Boario Terme, an oasis of peace and quiet in the heart of Valle Camonica. From the lake region to the alpine scenery of the Presolana Pass down to the Pre-Alps in Lombardy, the riders will pass by three of the most famous lakes in the world where thousands motorcycle riders come every year to test their riding skills; Lake Como opens the road to Lake Lugano before reaching Isola dei Pescatori on Lake Maggiore for a unique dinner.

The Tour comes to an end on 10 September, after riding over the Mottarone Pass and Lake d’Orta another two obligatory stops on this extraordinary journey come into view. The Menabrea brewery and Bottalla Formaggi Dairies are both key destinations but the biggest anniversary celebration will be in Turin, Italy’s first national capital. The day will be even more memorable with a visit to Alenia Aeronautica and an inspection of the production and maintenance lines of one of Europe’s most advance combat planes: the Eurofighter.

The group will be accompanied by some of the greatest motorcycle legends, Giacomo Agostini, Marco Lucchinelli, Carl Fogarty and Marco Simoncelli.

Italian Legendary Tour is an ambitious project by Dainese and AGV that combines, in the name of Made in Italy, the best expressions of protection motorcycling culture over the course of time.

The idea is to promote the tradition and excellence in the history of motorcycling through the main players in each area of reference. The leather suits, Dainese protectors and AGV helmets worn by champions and finally the champions from different eras who have left their mark in the memory of all enthusiasts.

Important partners in the event this year will be Ducati, MV Agusta, Honda, Yamaha, Benelli, NH Hotels, Canon, E-Dreams and Gore-Tex.
