Paul Jr. Designs has teamed up with Cepheid, a manufacturer and developer of microfluidics and microelectronics technologies for DNA analysis, to build a custom-themed bike.

On Wednesday, Cepheid announced that PJD, which is owned by Paul Teutul Jr., star of Disovery’s American Chopper: Senior Vs. Junior, will unveil the bike at the 2011 American Association of Clinical Chemistry and Clinical Lab Expo in Atlanta July 24-28. Cepheid is calling the event “Art Meets Innovation.”

The Art Meets Innovation Paul Jr. Designs bike unveiling will occur at the 10 a.m. July 26 in Cepheid booth 431.

Paul Teutul Jr. (Owner, Paul Junior Designs) says: “Cepheid is the ideal company for us to work with – they have revolutionary technology, their products are impacting people around the world, and they are the fastest growing company in their industry. We are excited to be a part of telling their story as they unveil these new products.”

Besides the PJD unveiling, Discovery Channel will be there filming for a two-part episode of American Chopper that features the Cepheid PJD bike build.

John Bishop (Cepheid’s CEO) says: “As the leading innovator in the Molecular Diagnostics market, we thought that it would be interesting and exciting to team with the leading innovator in creative design in his particular field through our engagement with Paul Jr. Designs. It’s an unexpected but perfect way to highlight our vision, innovation and creativity, associated with our new product offerings to be unveiled at the AACC/ASCLS meeting.

“We believe these unveilings will truly capture our company and brand like no other before it, along with the additional benefit of the expected halo effect of the Discovery Channel’s worldwide reach.”

Cepheid says Following “Art Meets Innovation,” the Paul Jr. Designs project will play a key role in helping Cepheid promote its new products throughout the United States.
