Casey Stoner took his third win of the 2011 MotoGP Championship Sunday at Round 5 in Catalunya, Spain. With his wins in the season opener in Qatar and Round 4 in France, Stoner now has 91 points, seven shy of the series’ leader, Jorge Lorenzo (Yamaha Factory Racing).

Yes, the Australian has the most wins out of five races, but the controversial crash he had at Round 2 in Jerez with Valentino Rossi caused for a DNF, and no points.

Lorenzo leads because he was on the podium at all but Le Mans, including his second-place finish at Catalunya Sunday, the second of four races held in Spain. Taking the final spot on the podium was Lorenzo’s teammate, Ben Spies, which was the Texan’s first podium in 2011 MotoGP.
