Here’s a behind-the-scenes look at the 2011 Yamaha Factory Racing presentation held at Sepang International Raceway on Monday, a day before the penultimate round of pre-season MotoGP testing begins.

In this YouTube video, the Yamaha YZR-M1 is shown in it’s 2011 livery, which is a Yamaha corporate blue color scheme that incorporates the speed block design.

And of course, the two men who will pilot the new M1 during the 2011 MotoGP Championship are also shown: reigning champion Jorge Lorenzo and Ben Spies (who took the vacant seat of Valentino Rossi).

At the presentation, Lorenzo and Spies commented on the 50th anniversary of Yamaha’s participation in the MotoGP Championship.

Jorge Lorenzo says: "When I first came to Yamaha it was a dream for me at 19 yrs old, the legend of Yamaha was very big. To be one champion in the history of Yamaha champions is good. I am looking forward to being part of this special year."

Ben Spies says: "For sure, just to be part of the Yamaha family is a big thing, I’ve been here for three years now and it’s been great. They welcomed me in my first year and I’m proud that I’ve been able to win the first world superbike title for them.

"This year moving to the factory MotoGP team in the same year as the 50th anniversary is huge for me, there’s going to be some special things going on during the season and being team mates with the world champion at this time is very cool."

Spies and Lorenzo will be back on the track Tuesday, as they prepare for the opening round of 2011 MotoGP at Qatar March 17.
