The "PINK" Supercross race celebrated its second annual year at Anaheim, and the SX event will help fund the Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure 60-mile walk, the ultimate event for the fight against breast cancer.
At the event, James "Bubba" Stewart (2011 Yamaha YZ450F) he rode to victory in round five of the 2011 AMA Supercross season with a dominating performance at Angel Stadium.
Stewart won the first heat race with ease, while Ryan Dungey (2011 Suzuki RM-Z450) claimed the second heat. But it was Bubba’s night in the main event, as the Yamaha star grabbed the holeshot through a flat and fast first turn.
Stewart instantaneously gained several bike lengths through the first rhythm section, and then several more as he bravely quad-jumped through the next.
Stewart gapped the entire SX field in just three corners, and after that he was unchallenged to the checkered flag.
The event marked the Yamaha YZ 450 F racer’s third win of the SX racing season as he increased his lead to five points over event runner-up Ryan Villopoto and an impressive 27 points over third-place podium finisher Chad Reed (2011 Honda CRF450R).
