After an unsuccessful year in the inaugural Moto2 Championship, the Antonio Banderas Moto2 team has reportedly withdrawn from the series after losing it’s title sponsor, the menswear brand Jack & Jones.
This leaves the only American rider in the series, Kenny Noyes, searching for a ride; Noyes had re-signed with actor Banderas’s Moto2 team just before the traditional post-season MotoGP tests at Valencia that Moto2 participated in.
The Spanish Moto2 team, run by manager Dani Devahive, was reportedly searching for other sponsors, but decided to fold, allowing Noyes and the team’s other rider Gabor Talmacsi the chance to ride with other teams.
During the November Valencia tests, the J&J Moto2 team tested with a Suter chassis, which replaced their former Promoharris set up.
Although Noyes opened the Moto2 season with a seventh-place finish in Round 2 at Jerez and then a pole at Le Mans, the team struggled throughout the remainder of the season. When the championship was over, Noyes finished 24th overall.
