2010 AMA Pro Racing
As one of the most prolific supporters of motorcycle racing across the wide spectrum of disciplines, Sunoco Race Fuels has supported AMA Pro Road Racing with their Sunoco Go the Distance Award.
In both the AMA Pro SuperBike and Daytona SportBike classes, Sunoco awarded a $5,000 check to the motorcycle rider in each class who completed the most laps over the course of the season.
Sunoco, a world leader in the refining of premium racing gasoline, is the Official Fuel of AMA Pro Road Racing.
Sunoco provides AMA Pro Road Racing with Sunoco 260 GTX, a premium unleaded racing fuel designed to meet the motorcycle racing needs of AMA Pro Road Racing as well as many other high performance racing applications.
This year’s competition in the National Guard SuperBike class was more competitive than ever, with six different motorcycle riders taking wins, and four of those riders taking multiple wins, led by Josh Hayes who took seven victories on his way to the AMA Pro SuperBike Championship aboard his Team Graves Yamaha.
Taking five motorcycle-racing wins of his own was Tommy Hayden who showed his consistency by taking this year’s Sunoco Go the Distance Award over Hayes. Tommy had a record year where he posted his first career SuperBike win and also captured his first SuperBike Pole Position at New Jersey Motorsports Park.
Tommy was the model of consistency in taking the Sunoco Award and he received the check for $5,000.00 at this year’s AMA Pro Road Racing Awards banquet at the Barber Vintage Motorsport Museum following the final SuperBike championship deciding race weekend at Barber Motorsports Park.
In the AMA Daytona SportBike class, the 2010 Sunoco Go the Distance Award was won by Danny Eslick.
Danny finished every motorcycle race this season on his way to the Sunoco Award and only missed winning his second Daytona SportBike title in a row by eight points from the very deserving champion Martin Cardenas who took the title at the final race of the season in style by winning on his M4 Monster Energy Suzuki for the ninth time in 2010.
Eslick received his $5,000.00 check from Sunoco at the season ending motorcycle-racing banquet.
Sunoco 260 GTX is formulated for off-road motorcycle use as a racing gasoline and is available from Sunoco Race Fuels distributors.
